Protecting 200 million banking transactions with AI-powered threat detection
Mobile Identify partnered with Vizst to simplify a complex dual data centre architecture, improve threat detection, and reduce infrastructure strain while maintaining strict compliance requirements.
The vision
Mobile Identify by Bastion is a Dublin-based SaaS company that helps financial institutions prevent fraud and verify customer identity through mobile authentication.
Its technology processes more than 200 million transactions every year for over 100 financial institutions, including Ireland’s largest banks and most of its credit unions.
As digital banking continues to grow, accurately identifying whether the person using a banking app is the legitimate account holder has become increasingly important. Mobile Identify plays a critical role in protecting customers against fraud techniques such as SIM swapping, where attackers fraudulently transfer a victim’s phone number to a new SIM card in an attempt to gain access to banking services.
To maintain trust in the financial ecosystem, Mobile Identify needs complete visibility across its infrastructure while meeting strict security and compliance requirements.

The challenges
As Mobile Identify expanded its VMware NSX-T environment across two data centres, the team needed greater visibility into network traffic flowing between virtualised workloads. Without access to this traffic, it became more difficult to identify threats, investigate suspicious activity and maintain a complete view of the environment.
At the same time, the organisation needed to maintain its ISO 27001 certification and ensure security teams could easily access the evidence and reporting required for compliance. Any new solution had to support these requirements without adding complexity or creating additional operational overhead.
Mobile Identify also wanted to simplify its security architecture and eliminate the limitations of existing approaches. To strengthen its security operations, the team needed a reliable way to feed NSX-T traffic into its AI-powered threat detection platform, enabling more effective monitoring and faster threat identification across the environment.
The solution
Vizst worked with Mobile Identify to implement Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline and GigaVUE Cloud Suite for VMware, creating a simpler and more scalable approach to network visibility across its VMware NSX-T environment.
The solution provides complete visibility into network traffic flowing across the organisation’s virtual infrastructure, giving security teams the data they need to improve threat detection and support AI-driven security operations. By delivering the right traffic to downstream security tools, Mobile Identify can monitor its environment more effectively while reducing unnecessary complexity.
The new architecture also supports key operational and compliance requirements. Security and compliance teams now have access to the evidence needed to maintain ISO 27001 certification, while built-in filtering and load balancing capabilities help optimise traffic flows and improve efficiency. Compared with the previous homegrown approach, the solution significantly reduced CPU consumption, lowering infrastructure overhead while creating a more resilient and easier-to-manage platform for future growth.

Mobile Identify achieved complete visibility across its VMware environment, reduced infrastructure overhead, strengthened AI-powered threat detection and simplified ISO 27001 compliance.
For this client, Vizst partnered with Gigamon®, who offers a deep observability pipeline that efficiently delivers network-derived intelligence to cloud, security, and observability tools. This helps eliminate security blind spots and reduce tool costs, enabling you to better secure and manage your hybrid cloud infrastructure. Gigamon has served more than 4,000 customers worldwide, including over 80 percent of Fortune 100 enterprises, 9 of the 10 largest mobile network providers, and hundreds of governments and educational organisations.

“I’ve talked to many people over the months when searching for a solution, but what stood out to me was Gigamon and the Vizst Technology team’s focus on removing the pain points from our journey in a very short amount of time,” he said. With the GigaVUE Cloud Suite, he now has easy access to the logs he needs to maintain the company’s ISO certification.
The onboarding and the support from Vizst Technology was built into the cost, and it was worth every penny,” he remarked.”
