How FC Douch expanded access to funeral services through live streaming, remote participation and flexible digital communications.
The vision
FC Douch wanted to evolve its services to meet changing family expectations while maintaining the compassion, dignity and personal approach that has defined the business for generations.
The goal was to make funeral services more accessible for remote attendees while creating a flexible platform that could support future requirements.
The challenges
Having served families across Dorset for generations, FC Douch recognised that the way people attend and participate in funeral services was changing. Families were increasingly spread across different locations, making it more difficult for everyone to be physically present while still wanting to take part in important moments.
The organisation needed a solution that would enable high-quality, reliable live streaming and two-way participation for remote attendees, while ensuring those joining online received the same respectful and engaging experience as those attending in person.
At the same time, FC Douch wanted a flexible platform that could support larger services, improve accessibility and make better use of digital communications throughout its facilities.
The solution
Vizst worked with FC Douch to design and implement an integrated audio visual solution that combines live streaming, remote participation and digital signage across its service chapels.
The initial deployment enhanced the existing chapel environment with a Zoom Room solution, allowing services to be streamed live while enabling remote attendees to watch, listen and participate when appropriate. Integrated audio, video and content sharing ensure a consistent experience for both physical and virtual attendees.
Building on the success of the first deployment, Vizst delivered a second, fully integrated solution for their new Ferndown chapel. The system combines advanced audio processing, high-quality video, hearing loop technology and simplified controls to create an inclusive seamless experience for all attendees, whether they are present in person or joining remotely.
The platform was also designed with future expansion in mind, allowing additional displays and spaces to be incorporated as requirements evolve.
